FMS 1300mm PA-18 Super Cub with Reflex V3, PNP / RTF

Great flying plane but there is a trick to make the build a lot easier. Before you install the tail of the plane, take a razor knife and shave just the small piece off the main plane piece. This will aloud the screws to line up. The yellow line on the engine line can be hooked to a separate channel for a reverse thrust switch.

Flys well and for the most part, a breeze to assemble.

I got the RTF version. I totally recommend this plane, BUT the instructions for the wiring set up are lacking…very vague and I had to go to YouTube to figure it out. The pictures were not good in the instructions. Flew it first time and found out 2 things….if you turn the controller off first after you land the plane, it might go FULL THROTTLE….what? Also, if you flip a certain switch on your controller it might get cross controls… I inadvertently flipped one of the 6 small switches on the center of the controller and all of the sudden had full left aileron + full up elevator and full right aileron came with full down elevator….That was a hard one to figure out in flight….but I saved it and we're all good now. My biggest beef is with the instructions and the wiring and the full throttle surprise. I don't see any warnings about this in the instructions. I may have missed it though. As for the plane I love it. Flies great and is a ton of fun to play a round with. The pneumatic tires are a great feature as well.

Great flying and super strong

This is my first plane of this size. I have previously flown the 400mm warbirds but realized I needed to get a larger plane to truly learn to fly. The small ones pretty much fly themselves and are nearly impossible to fly without the gyro. I saw the pa-18 1300mm and was really impressed with all of the features that usually were available only on models in a higher price range. Initially I was considering the umx turbo timber. After some investigation realized that I couldn't use my current transmitter/reciever as it was integrated into the electronics and would have to purchase a spectrum transmitter at $150 plus $160 for the really small model. I thought if I'm going to spend that much I might as well get one without being forced to use a particularly expensive radio with very basic functions. So I got a Radiolink 8ch with reciever for $50. Which is capable of controlling all the functions of the pa-18. This plane is hands down the most bang for the buck available. I've had mine for a few months now and I can say it flies amazingly. I am still a beginner and the plane has crashed several times due to my inexperience. Each time I was able repair any damage and was back in the air the next day. I've hit light poles and a chain link fence at high speed along with some very hard landings (recommend adding a third spring to the landing gear between the tires) did some considerable damage to the main body that would have totally destroyed any other plane. Every time I've managed to glue or tape it back in shape easily. I've gone through a few props a couple motor shafts and a wing strut. All of which are pretty reasonably priced. I ordered a set of wing struts that arrived broken but FMS was great and quickly sent replacements. Overall I am extremely happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend this plane. I will be buying a second one eventually. I gave it 4 stars because of an incident when I was trying to land where it suddenly started continuously looping in a very tight pattern. I had no elevator control and was only able to make it stop by using aileron. Of course I quickly landed and inspected everything looking for what caused it to happen. I could not find anything wrong and have had no other issues since. I wonder if the reflex module could have been the problem? Could have been just a glitch. I don't know but I'll definitely be careful of where I fly. My new motor shaft should be here today. I hope so I'm dying to get back in the air!!!!

I have only built it, but it looks great and went together great lonely complaint is that screw holes and tail really hard to do we had to file out some of the hole but over all looks great
